At P&G Canada, we see sustainability as an opportunity—a chance to improve lives, our own operations and the communities in which we live and work. That’s why we make sustainability part of all that we do.
For each of our brands, we’re committed to offering superior performance and value with a smaller environmental footprint. In keeping with that philosophy, we have established a global long-term sustainability vision along with short-term 2020 goals in three focus areas – climate, water and waste. Our 2020 goals help to ensure we are making progress against our long-term vision of offering superior quality and value with a smaller environmental footprint.
Long-term environmental sustainability vision:
Highlights of our short-term environmental sustainability goals and progress:
Climate: Climate change poses complex challenges that require a wide range of strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. For P&G, this means we are striving to reduce energy consumption associated with our plants and products, use less carbon-intense raw materials and energy, and ensure that when we source key commodities like palm and pulp, we are not contributing to deforestation.
Water: With the current water situation in the world today, we have an obligation to reduce the water we use in the manufacturing phase while helping to educate consumers about water consumption when they use our products.
Waste: We are committed to reducing waste in our manufacturing sites and we continue to look for ways to improve our packaging to reduce waste and ensure it can be recycled.
